Paragon Casino Resort kicks off the 2010 fall season with its annual Coats for Kids drive. The coat drive is now underway and donations will be accepted through Monday, November 1. Paragon will collect new or slightly worn coats and jackets of any color and size, with buttons or zippers. Donations may be dropped off at the Tour & Travel sales booth, located near the parking garage, or at the Paragon Preferred Players Club, located near Roxy’s Diner.
“It’s important to us to give back to our community,” said Paragon Acting General Manager Chris Barbry. “Paragon is a community-minded company and we support efforts to improve the quality of life for our local citizens. We want to make sure that the less fortunate stay warm as it gets colder in the upcoming months.”
VIP Cleaners in Marksville has generously agreed to participate in this event for the first time by donating their services to clean the coats free of charge. After cleaning, the coats will be distributed to underprivileged families in the parish by the Avoyelles Council on Aging. The Council will announce the date of distribution.
To date, Paragon has helped collect more than 2,000 coats since it started participating in the drive about ten years ago. Paragon had recognized the great need for a Coats for Kids drive in Avoyelles Parish, and has been hosting it ever since.
