Honorees Chosen for YWCA’s Decades of Women

The YWCA of Alexandria-Pineville has been serving Central Louisiana since 1946.  For over 60 years, we have been a catalyst for women and children’s rights.   The YWCA is the largest and oldest women’s membership movement in the United States.  The mission of the YWCA is to empower women and girls and to eliminate racism.

As part of our mission of empowering women, The YWCA is hosting a “Decades of Women” Luncheon.  This event will honor six women, one from each decade ranging from 20’s to 70’s+, who have displayed community excellence and achievement.  Each candidate was nominated by members of the community and selected by the YWCA Board of Directors.
