This year will feature guest speaker CSM James Mitchell of the 46th Engineer Battalion-Fort Polk. A special rendition of Taps will be performed and the colors will be posted by the 46th Engineers, Fort Polk. This special tribute, including a “wreath-laying,” will take place at Alexandria City Hall on the Veterans Memorial Plaza, facing Third Street. The ceremony is intended to provide citizens an opportunity to honor and reflect upon the heroism of veterans in central Louisiana and around the country. The ceremony is sponsored by the Exchange Club of Alexandria as part of their Americanism program.
