CASA Volunteer Donna YoungDonna Young has been a CASA volunteer since September of 2002, often taking the responsibility of multiple cases at once.  Having previously worked in the health care field, Donna’s desire to help others fits perfectly into her role as a CASA volunteer.  “I have witnessed abused children being brought into the hospital. There are just so many children out there that really need our help; someone to follow up on them, to be sure they’re not falling through the cracks of the system,” she stated.

During her time with Rapides CASA, Donna has been a volunteer on numerous foster care cases and has maintained her concern for the abused and neglected children in today’s world. “When I see these children are adopted or placed in a loving home, I am so happy for them.  I am sad to see them go, but happy that they will have a family now. It gives me a sense of accomplishment to be able to follow through with a case and see a happy ending.”  Donna is currently serving as an advocate on both her 6th and 7th case.
