Alexandria’s Premier 10k returns on March 5th as the Red River Runners present the 18th Annual Red River Run. Sponsored by Cleco, the run will begin at 8:00am on Saturday, March 5th at Big Island Park, next to Bringhurst Field in Alexandria. The run will follow a flat, fast USATF certified 10k course, starting and finishing at Big Island. A 1-mile family fun run will begin 30 minutes prior to the 10k.
In addition to the run, participants will have the opportunity to win awards for overall and age specific groupings while enjoying live music by “When All Is Lost”. The first 50 runners across the finish line will receive a special commemorative mug. There will be lots of jambalaya, pasta salad and refreshments to refuel. Special entertainment for kids will include balloon animals, inflatable jumper and more.
