Musical Theatre Intensive Workshop

Students will improve their singing, acting and dancing skills while rehearsing and performing Pirates of Penzance, Jr., the hilarious farce by Gilbert and Sullivan that features swashbuckling pirates, pretty young maids, bumbling policemen and an eccentric Major-General. Also, members of the cast will be chosen to represent Cenla at the national Junior Theatre Festival!

A week shared with 25 young ladies, ages 8-12, learning pastimes from Jane Austen’s era. Ladies will complete art projects, decorate their Regency bonnets, learn the language of fans, create cross stitch projects with our Quilters, practice etiquette, journal, write proper thank you letters, practice using artist points and ink, attend and host authentic tea parties, and so much more! Boys and girls, ages 11 to 13, can learn the basic skills needed to be a safe and successful babysitter. This medically-accurate, hands-on class teaches sitters how to entertain children and keep them safe, how to perform basic child-care skills, how to call for emergency help, what to do when a child chokes, how to keep themselves safe and how to start a successful babysitting business.
