Tunica-Biloxi Tribe Hosts 15th Annual Pow WowThe Tunica-Biloxi Tribe of Louisiana and Paragon Casino Resort are excited to host the 15th Annual Pow Wow Celebration on May 14th – 17th at the Chief Joseph “Alcide” Pierite Pow Wow Grounds. Native American dancers and artisans from across the nation will gather in Marksville for the annual cultural celebration. This year’s event will feature special performances by two-time Grammy Award winning Native American musician, Bill Miller. Miller will perform in two concerts on Saturday, May 15th at 11:00am and 6:30pm at the Pow Wow Grounds on the Tunica-Biloxi Reservation on Highway One in Marksville.

Open to the general public, daily admission to the Pow Wow is $5.00 for adults, $2.00 for children 5 and under, and $3.00 for senior citizens 65 and older. Spectators will be treated to other performances by Aztec dancers: Cuicani in Xochitl and Tunica-Biloxi Singers and Legend Keepers.

Tunica-Biloxi Tribe Hosts 15th Annual Pow WowThe weekend schedule of Pow Wow events includes a grand entry procession of dancers in full regalia the evening of Friday, May 14th followed by a special contest of men’s and women’s dance. The celebration will continue on Saturday, May 15th with storytelling and songs at 10:00am followed by Bill Miller’s first performance at 11:00am. The afternoon festivities include Warrior Dancing, Dance & Drum Competition, Aztec Dancers and the second performance by Bill Miller. The Pow Wow will wrap up on Sunday, May 16th with storytelling, songs, Gourd Dancing, competition finals and an awards ceremony.
