Theater Louisiana College Presents “The 1940’s Radio Hour”

Theater Louisiana College (tlc) continues its second offering this fall season: “The 1940’s Radio Hour” by Walton Jones November 8th through 11th.  “The 1940’s Radio Hour provides humorous family entertainment,” said Dr. Rick Brewer, president of Louisiana College. “The play is nostalgic, wholesome, and inspirational. I recommend it highly.”

The New York Daily News describes the play as a “totally exhilarating hour of singing, dancing, and funny commercials.” Set in a 1940’s radio station studio, tlc’s production combines the talents of students and local actors and musicians, complete with the big band sound on-stage and numerous familiar songs from the 1940s.

“There’s a lot of energy. It’s exciting. It’s fun. It’s hilarious,” said Tabitha Huffman, Associate Professor of Theatre and Artistic Director of tlc. “The best parts are the relational dynamics of the characters and the dysfunctional chaos behind the scenes and how all that comes together to make a fun show.” Scheduled for two weekends of shows in Martin Performing Arts Center, November 1st through 4th and 8th through 11th, the Thursday through Saturday shows begin at 7:00pm and the Sunday shows begin at 2:00pm.
