stjamesbroadwaycastStjamessealFor the final installment of the 2013-2014 St. James Concert Series, St. James will play host to some bright, up-and-coming stars direct from the Great White Way.  On Saturday, April 26th, the Concert Series will conclude its year of programming with a concert of music written for the Broadway stage.  The show will feature five talented New York performers beginning at 7:00pm in the church nave.  The quintet is comprised of soprano Heather Hill, mezzo-sopranos Tynan Davis and Cathy Venable (also the accompanist), tenor Michael Coco and baritone Christopher Trepinski.  The group will present various pieces as soloists and ensemble selected from the musical theatre canon.

“We are happy to have the opportunity to come together, some of us working together for the first time, to share our musical dreams with Alexandria and the St. James Concert Series. Musical selections will include classic well-known favorites and lesser known pieces that will become favorites,” says Davis, who has served as a feature singer with Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, and was most recently featured on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. “Avoyelles Parish residents should definitely plan on supporting  Moreauville-native Michael Coco in his Louisiana concert return, and I hope to see many of my friends whom I met while my parents were active in the Alexandria community.”

As a part of the St. James Concert Series, this exciting concert, which will boast something for everyone, is presented with free admission and is open to the public thanks to generous grant support from The McCormick-Smith Fund, Inc.  St. James Episcopal Church is located at 1620 Murray Street and Bolton Avenue.
