The Hope Hose was founded to help single women and their families who were unable to afford shelter by providing a place to live until they could make more permanent arrangements.  With the ever growing problem of homelessness in the area, Hope House has evolved as an icon in assisting homeless women and children gain the tools necessary to become self-sufficient.  The focus of our mission is to assist homeless women and children become productive citizens in the community they call home, and to break the cycle of homelessness.  Currently, women may stay at the Hope House for two years while they participate in life skills training and other supportive services.  They may pursue an education or receive assistance gaining employment.  There are also services such as childcare and tutoring for their children.

Recently, Hope House has moved to a new, larger facility to provide more housing.  Increased expenses have been incurred, but the goal of making the services of Hope House available to more women and children is being met.  As a fundraising event to offset ongoing operation expenses, the Hope House is sponsoring A Tour Of Homes on Sunday March 23rd from 2:00pm to 4:00pm.  Three homes in Central Louisiana will be open for a leisurely self-guided tour.  Each home features beautiful architecture, furnishings and landscape.  The home of Jim and Mona Gates is located at 3906 Pecan Drive in Martin Park subdivision, the home of Representative & Mrs. Lance Harris is located at 4824 Porter Circle in the Lake District, and the home of Dr. Babson and Tish Fresh is located at 900 Windermere Boulevard in Charles Park subdivision.  The cost is $25.00 per ticket for admission to all the homes in advance or $30.00 at the homes the day of the event.  The families have graciously opened their homes with all proceeds going to benefit the Hope House.
