The First Recipient of the Kenny Donnelly Jr. Scholarship AwardThe Kenny Donnelly Jr. Scholarship Program was created a year ago to promote postsecondary education to Louisiana students as well as provide some financial assistance to deserving high school seniors to utilize towards college expenses.  One of our goals is to encourage and support graduating high school students who through scholastic, artistic, and athletic achievement have earned the opportunity to obtain a college education.

The First Recipient of the Kenny Donnelly Jr. Scholarship AwardKenny Donnelly Jr., was only 20 years old when he passed away. He graduated in 2008 from Holy Savior Menard High School in Alexandria, Louisiana. He was a full- time student at the University Of Louisiana Lafayette (ULL), a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity, and a member of the Louisiana National Guard.  He was a very kind, spirited person who always took the time to help others in need and could light up a room with his charming smile.  He was self-motivated, focused, and believed in achieving the highest standards in his life.  Higher education was very important to him and that’s why this scholarship was established.
