Smoke On the Mountain Returns to CenlaSmoke On the Mountain, the country-gospel musical comedy smash is back and better than ever, and Lagniappe Theatre Company can’t wait to see you there! Showing May 21st – 23rd at the Pineville High School Auditorium, Smoke On the Mountain is here to bring the laughs, the music and your family together. If you missed it last year, you don’t want to miss it again. If you saw it last year, it only gets better the second time.

This down home country romp features professional actors/musicians from across the country, playing classic gospel music we all know and love; wrapped up in a story full of humor, love and spirit lifting stories. The year is 1938. It’s Saturday night in Mount Pleasant, North Carolina, and the Reverend Oglethorpe has invited the Sanders Family Singers to provide an upliftin’ evening of singin’ and witnessin’. The audience is invited to pull up a pew and join in the rollicking good time. More than two dozen songs, many of them famous hymns, and hilarious stories from the more or less devout Sanders family, provide a richly entertaining evening.

Smoke On the Mountain is the most produced show in the United States, with 3,000 separate productions since its release. It has an infectious effect on audiences because of its wonderful music, heart- felt messages, characters everyone can relate to, and for being just an old fashioned good time. Smoke On the Mountain is proudly sponsored by the Best Western Inn & Suites and Conference Center of Alexandria and McDonald’s of Pineville. Show times are Friday, May 21st and Saturday, May 22nd at 7:00pm, and Sunday, May 23rd at 2:30pm. Get your tickets today by calling (318) 48-STAGE or visit www.lagniappetehatre.com.
