“A very big ‘Thank You’ first and foremost to our amazing, talented chefs,” says Rachael Dauzat, River Oaks’ Executive Director. “We, of course, could not accomplish this feat without the help of our dedicated volunteers, our dynamic board, an A-team staff and especially you, Central Louisiana! Thank you for one superb evening! River Oaks appreciates you!”
Also in motion, River Oaks is getting set for the next round of exhibitions. “Old Friends, New Work,” featuring renowned ceramicists Elizabeth Cohen and Conner Burns in the Bolton Davis Gallery, will display amazing and intricate works of ceramics. Cohen, a Massachusetts-based artist, and Burns, a Mississippi native, will showcase their talent in a collaboration of new work in their first presentation together.
Cohen will also be featured in a special set of hands-on classes scheduled for Saturday, July 9th and Sunday July 10th from 10:00am until 4:00pm. Participants will explore altering and combining wheel thrown forms as well as techniques of throwing with porcelain. The class is limited, with a registration fee of $80 per person (supplies included). Basic to advanced levels are welcome.
