Ongoing-November 30: No Shave November. Join Rapides Regional Medical Center as we present our third No Shave November to raise awareness of men’s health issues and to raise money to assist with the transportation needs of Rapides Cancer Center patients. Post a picture of yourself to RRMC’s Facebook page or tag it “#RapidesNoShave.” On Wednesday, November 30th, post another picture with your facial hair. That’s it. RRMC is asking all men who participate to donate $10.00 to the RRMC Auxiliary’s Cancer Fund to help patients of the Rapides Cancer Center. November 19: Neal Bertrand Presents: Dad’s War Photos, Johnson Branch Library, 10:30am-4:30pm. Author Neal Bertrand discusses his latest book, Dad’s War Photos: Adventure in the South Pacific. While stationed in the South Pacific during WWII, Curtis Bertrand took photographs everywhere he went, leaving a picture “breadcrumb trail” of over 600 photographs. Included are portions of his battalion’s official military record or “journal” which add the adventure to the photos. November 28: The Alzheimer’s Caregivers Support Group, Cabrini Mediplex Serenity Room, 11:00am – 12:30pm. This group is designed for Caregivers and/or family members of those diagnosed with Alzheimer/Dementia. We offer educational handouts, sharing time, and lunch is provided by Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital. The Alzheimer Support Group meets on the fourth Monday of each month. November 28: The Alzheimer’s Activity Group, Cabrini Mediplex Serenity Room, 11:00am – 12:30pm. The activity group will be offered for those with Alzheimer’s disease. The staff from Brookdale Senior Living will offer appropriate activities with a fun, hands-on approach. This group meets on the fourth Monday of the month in conjunction with the Caregivers Support Group. The caregiver must attend the Caregivers Group and stay on campus during this group time. November 29: Tupperware BINGO, Westside Regional Library, 5:30pm-7:30pm. We’re having a Tupperware BINGO night and you’re invited!
