Throughout the Central Louisiana community, LA Cardiovascular and Thoracic Insitute has been a leader with minimally invasive cardiovascular and thoracic surgery since performing the first minimally invasive valve surgery in Cenla in the mid 1990’s.

LA CVT’s minimally invasive approach to aortic and mitral valve, as well as video assisted thoracic surgery (VATS) for lesions in the thoracic cavity, lesson the time a patient spends in ICU as well as the patients overall hospital stay. Now with the addition of the da Vinci Robot, LA CVT has taken minimally invasive surgery to a new level.  Most importantly, with the minimally invasive approach, we see a decrease in the amount of pain and scaring a patient will endure upon completion of the procedure. In the future, more surgeries will be offered with these approaches and state of the art techniques.
