Luck of the Irish

Have you ever heard that phrase?  Do you believe that Irish are luckier than others? My theory on that is they are not necessarily luckier as much as they recognize opportunity when it knocks on their door.  If you have ever known anyone of Irish descent, you know that they are quick to anger, quick to love, quick to fight, quick to laugh and quick to enjoy life to the fullest.  When one embraces life with all of the enthusiasm that the Irish do, one can’t help but find luck around every corner.  Being open-minded and viewing situations positively instead of negatively allows us to see things in a different light.  What most people see as bad luck the Irish see as a lesson to be learned and a moment of revelation where hope springs eternal.  There are so many clichés we could talk about, “Everything happens for a reason,” “Behind every cloud is a silver lining,” “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.” If we train our minds to think this way, the world, and our lives, takes on a totally different look.

What do you see when you look in the mirror? Do you see wrinkles, gray hair, lips that are too small and ears that are too big? If we train our minds to look past that and see deep inside at the caring, giving person that lives within us, our whole attitude will change.  Here’s a new cliché for you: “We become what we say.”  If our self-talk repeatedly tells us we are beautiful, strong and are capable of amazing things, guess what?  We become beautiful, strong and capable of amazing things.  So, my challenge to you is to find the positive voice within yourself and use it to transform your life.  In doing so, you will find many rainbows and untold riches buried in pots of gold!
