Ruth Anne’s passion was enjoying live classical music, especially when played on piano. Since Tal Zilber was one of her favorite performers in the history of the Temple’s concert series, it is fitting that he return for this concert memorializing her, along with her parents and her husband.
Pianist Tal Zilber enjoys an unusually diverse career of classical, jazz, and pop performances as well as composing, arranging, and improvising. Prizes and awards include the Andre Watts Scholarship, the America-Israel Culture Foundation Scholarship, the Lillian H. Duncan Prize and the Marian Fox Martel scholarship. Tal holds a M.M from Rice University, a Performance Diploma from Indiana University, and a B.M. from the Rubin Israeli Music Academy. He is currently completing a Doctorate Degree in Contemporary Improvisation at the New England Conservatory in Boston.
Tal has performed in Alexandria before and was a contestant in the Louisiana International Piano Competition a few years ago. His concert on April 17th will feature classical and jazz selections. He will be performing on a state-of-the-art Yamaha digital grand piano.
