Habitat for Humanity Needs Volunteers in CenlaHabitat for Humanity is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian ministry founded on the conviction that every man, woman and child should have a decent, safe and affordable place to live. Habitat builds with people in need regardless of race or religion, and welcomes volunteers and supporters from all backgrounds.

Habitat currently needs additional volunteers to help complete a house build in the Cenla area during the month of August.  Each Saturday, volunteers, working in shifts of 10 people, will meet from 6:00am to 12:00noon August 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th.  Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age to work on the site and 17 to operate power tools.  No prior work experience is needed as all work is supervised by trained professionals and instruction is provided on site.

All volunteers must pre-register with the Habitat for Humanity office by calling (318) 449-9804.  Directions and further instructions will be given at the time of confirmed registration.  Youth groups, community service organizations, church members and individuals are all encouraged to sign up!  For more information on Habitat’s mission and other ways you can help, visit them on the web at www.habitat.org.
