The Arts Council of Central Louisiana presents the renowned twelve member vocal ensemble, Chanticleer, in concert on March 9th at 7:30pm at Coughlin-Saunders Performing Arts Centerin Alexandria.
Named for the Chaucer Canterbury Tales “clear-singing” rooster, Chanticleer has developed a worldwide reputation for its impeccable musicianship, beauty of sound, and wide-ranging repertoire from Renaissance to jazz, and from gospel to venturesome new music. With its seamless blend of twelve male voices, ranging from countertenor to bass, the ensemble has earned international renown as “an orchestra of voices”.
Tickets for Chanticleer are $25.00 for adults, $18.00 for seniors and $12.00 for students and may be purchased at the Performing Arts Center box office one hour prior to the performance, or in advance by phoning the Arts Council office at (318) 443-4718. This will be the only Louisiana stop on this tour so it is expected to be a sell-out.
