Mack, Serrano, Kruger and Mimosa.  No, we’re not talking about hamburgers, peppers, scary movies or tropical drinks.  This quartet is new to the Alexandria Zoo, and their native habitats span three continents.

Mack, a precocious male North American river otter, is sure to win the hearts of Zoo visitors.  Mack was born in March 2011 and came to Alexandria by way of the Florida Aquarium.  The always playful and energetic river otters can be spotted in the Louisiana Habitat.

Serrano is a young male maned wolf that was born February 23, 2013 at the Pueblo Zoo.  Maned wolves are native of South America, and are characterized by their beautiful reddish-orange coats, long legs, and big ears.  Despite their name, they are not members of the wolf family; they are actually wild dogs.  Visitors can get a glimpse of the maned wolves on exhibit near the Festival Plaza.

Kruger, a male born October 1, 2003, and Mimosa, a female born February 3, 2007, are servals.  These long-legged felines live in the tall grasses of the African savanna.  Visitors can see the pair on exhibit near the Palm Café.

For a chance to see the baby Malayan tiger cubs, don’t miss the Mardi Gras Party on Saturday, February 14th from 2:00pm to 4:00pm.  Visitors will be treated to cookies by Atwood’s Bakery, a performance by the Victory Belles from 2:00pm to 3:00pm, and a meet and greet with costumed character Curious George.
