Drop In Drawing classes are for any and all skill levels seeking a relaxed creative environment. This on-going series for adults offers instruction, experience with other dry mediums, constructive critique, and inspiration from exhibitions. All materials are provided. This is a drop in event; no need to register, but classes are limited to the first 20 participants to check in.

Plein Air Art Exhibit Reception

Luminary Costumes Workshop

Join us at AMoA to create your own illuminated costume. Choose from three construction styles ranging from easy to difficult. Participants may bring interesting clothing to transform with paint and lights (easy), create a plastic couture article of clothing (moderate) or Bauhaus inspired costume (more difficult). Two sessions are offered for this workshop to help you complete your wearable masterpiece. Then, join us to illuminate the night with us at the fall procession on October 19th.

In connection with Hari & Deepti: Light by the Forest, we will screen a short Balinese Shadow Puppet show which was a source of inspiration for the artists in the Winter exhibition. We will also venture into other types of paper art with the award winning documentary, Between the Folds, about artists and scientists who have devoted their lives to origami and reinterpreting the medium of paper.

Forging Fibers: Paper Making Workshop for Adults

Join us for some torch time as we offer an intro into flame worked glass-blowing and sculpting on a torch with acclaimed NOLA glass artist, Andrew Jackson Pollack. Pollack Glass Studio & Gallery on Magazine Street, New Orleans features the work of Andrew Pollack and a number of other Contemporary Glass Artists, currently representing 20 local, New Orleans, glass artists along with numerous international glass artists, jewelers, and more. Pollack Glass Studio hosts workshops in a variety of glass-working techniques.
