In connection with Connected Visions: Louisiana’s Artistic Lineage, AMoA is hosting a screening of the first installment in This is Modern Art, entitled “I Am a Genius”. This documentary, which aired in 1999, explored the current state of contemporary art and the affect that artists such as Picasso, Jackson Pollock, and Andy Warhol had on art of the time. Many of the artists in this installment were influences on or contemporaries of artists in the permanent exhibition. Join us for the screening and a discussion afterwards.
