Did you know that approximately 198,000 men served in the United States colored Troops during the Civil War? Another 20,000 served in the Navy. More black Civil War soldiers came from Louisiana than any other state. Come hear their stories from historian Jerilyn Lee. She will present “The Black Soldier in America’s Civil War: A Timeline from Slavery to Solider” at 2:00pm on Saturday and “The Louisiana Regiments: A Storied History” on Sunday at 2:30pm.
