Easter Crackles

105

An easy and tasty Easter treat, Crackles satisfy the sweet tooth, and can be part of Easter snacks, or even a basket treat if wrapped or bagged. Crackles were originally a traditional Scottish recipe which called for rice bubbles and thin cream. We modified it a bit, but it is still quite tasty.  Try it and see!

3 Large Mars Bars (Chopped)
2 Tablespoons Half & Half Cream
2 Teaspoons Cocoa Powder (Sifted)
3 Cups Rice Krispies Cereal
20 Small Easter Egg Candies (For Decoration)
Paper Cupcake Liners

Place paper cupcake liners in cupcake pans to receive completed crackles. Place Mars bars, half and half, and cocoa powder in a heat proof bowl. Mix well and place bowl over simmering water double boiler (bowl should not touch water.) You may use your microwave.  Stir until melted and smooth. Place cereal in a large bowl; pour warm Mars mixture over cereal and stir until well combined. Use small food scoop to place crackle mixture into each cupcake liner. Decorate top of each candy with Easter egg, or other appropriate decoration. Allow to cool and set.
