Celebrate Christmas With The Red River Chorale

Red River Chorale Logo - 4cChristmas is in the air, and the best way to get in the Christmas spirit is to attend the Red River Chorale’s Christmas concert.  The concert this year, “Celebrating Christmas” continues the Chorale’s celebration of its tenth concert season.  It will be presented on Tuesday evening, December 16th at 7:30pm at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral on Fourth Street in Downtown Alexandria.

 

“Celebrating Christmas” is a concert in four parts.  The first, “Anticipation and Hope”, includes works that express mankind’s hope for love and redemption.  It features Buxtehude’s classic Das Neugeborgne Kindelein as well as the lovely E’en So, Lord Jesus, Quickly Come by Paul Manz, and Glenn Rudolph’s Veiled in Darkness.

 

“Illumination” focuses on Christmas as the season of light and features works by J.S. Bach and John Rutter.  “Love and Giving” features works that celebrate God’s loving gift of Jesus Christ to the world. It  includes such works as Mein Lyking, Nativity Carol, and the haunting I Wonder As I Wander.

 

“Season of Joy” includes songs of celebration of this joyful season, concluding with the audience joining the chorus in singing O Come, All Ye Faithful.

 

Tickets for “Celebrating Christmas” are $15.00 for adults and $5.00 for students.  They may be purchased at the Chorale”s website at www.redriverchorale.com, from www.ticket-central.org, from Red River Music, or from Chorale members.  Just imagine what a perfect gift these concert tickets would make!
