CASA Volunteer Nikki BourgoyneElizabeth “Nikki” Bourgoyne is one of our newer CASA volunteers. She is currently employed at Heart of Louisiana Federal Credit Union. While she works full time, she is also enrolled in college at Bossier Parish Community College where she is pursuing her degree as a social worker. This is not exactly what she thought she would be doing in her life, but her convictions as a Christian and her heart told her that it was right. Following a mission trip working with children from broken homes, Nikki felt compelled to do more. The trip inspired her follow a new path.

CASA Volunteer Nikki BourgoyneThe decision to volunteer for CASA seemed a natural fit for Nikki. From her experiences working as a volunteer in a children’s home, she knew what adversities these children faced. While she does not yet have the degree to work on their behalf, she felt that the CASA program would give her the opportunity to be a voice for a child. This opportunity has also introduced her to the different experiences that children and families face. Nikki stated that she simply hopes to help children understand “that there are people out there that care about them”.  Nikki has been a great influence on the children she advocates for.
