Back to School Fall Sports Eyewear

Back to School Fall Sports Eyewear
Dr. Phillip L. Carney, Jr.

Most sports encourage participants to have the best vision possible.  Fall sports (such as football, soccer, lacrosse, volleyball, cheerleading, etc.) may require something more durable and practical than standard eyeglasses.  Under a football or lacrosse helmet, glasses are likely to fog or be cumbersome, and on the soccer field or volleyball court, glasses are likely to fall off or cause injury to the face and eyes if hit with the ball.  The most practical solution is contact lenses.  Most all prescriptions are available in soft, disposable contacts and can be worn comfortably and safely while playing sports.  Soft contacts are even available in daily, one-time wear disposable lenses, perfect for the athlete that wears them only for sports.  For those that aren’t contact lens wearers, flexible sport goggles or sport frames are available that provide perfect vision along with added protection to the face and eyes.

Back to School Fall Sports EyewearVision doesn’t need to be compromised while playing fall sports.  Many options are available to those that need visual correction to optimize their eyesight.  For more information about sports vision correction, or for all your eye care needs, Dr. Carney is available by appointment at Welch/Wallace Laser Center by calling (318) 448-0221.
