River Oaks Square Arts Center held a big birthday bash during ArtWalk for our wonderful, whimsical ambassador for the arts, “Art.”  This life-size character will be popping up everywhere, even in places where you least expect him.  Don’t be surprised if you discover Art at Zoo Boo, AMoA, Very Merry Market, the Leesville ArtWalk, local restaurants and more.   As Art travels around town, please “be a part of Art” by signing his book and having your picture made with Art.  Local venues interested in hosting Art will be able to schedule visits at their locations by contacting River Oaks.

We hope that the character of  ‘Art’ will serve to remind people of what a diverse group of arts organizations we have in Alexandria and the importance of all forms of art in our lives.  T-shirts, bags and bumper stickers celebrating ‘Art,’ as well as special projects that will be developed to accompany his appearances around town can be purchased or scheduled through River Oaks Square Arts Center.  A storybook detailing Art’s travels around town might also evolve, so please be sure to sign his book and leave a little note.  You may be recognized in his chronicled adventures.
