Avoyelles Arts and Humanities Council invite you to Art in the Rafters Trois, their third annual art show and art walk, showcasing professional and amateur artists throughout Central Louisiana.  The event coincides with the organization’s annual membership drive and First Thursday on the Square, which will take place October 1st.  Artisans are invited to hang their art in Bailey’s on the Square or participate in the Art Walk on Ogden in front of Bailey’s in downtown Marksville.  There will be live jazz, passed hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar.  Doors open at 6:00pm.

“Art in the Rafters has grown to become one of Avoyelles Art Council’s signature events, and one where we put local artists front and center,” explains Donny Gagnard, event chair and council board member. “From painters to photographers and craftspeople, there is an abundance of talent in our area.”

First Thursday events begin at 5:00pm with shopping discounts at Bloom & Company, Tanglewood Soap Company, and specials at Red River Grill.  A bonus feature will be a pop-up shop. SoSis, a clothing boutique, will set up at their grandfather’s longtime establishment, Raymond’s Department Store.
