Alexandria Aces Announce 2011 Schedule

Alexandria Aces Announce 2011 ScheduleThe Alexandria Aces have announced their 2011 TCL schedule. The Aces’ second season in the TCL will start on Wednesday, June 1st, against the newest members of the TCL, the Acadiana Cane Cutters, at Historic Bringhurst Field on 1 Babe Ruth Drive.

The Aces will host a total of 30 regular-season games during the summer against the other TCL members; Brazos Valley Bombers, East Texas Pump Jacks, McKinney Marshals, Texas Tomcats, Coppell Copperheads, and the Victoria Generals. The last home game for the Aces will end the 2011 on Thursday, August 11th against the East Texas Pump Jacks to conclude the regular season.

Both the first-place and second-place teams of the first half will proceed to the TCL playoffs to face the second-half first and second-placed teams. Should there be a repeat winner, the team with the next-best overall record will make the playoffs and will meet in the TCL Playoffs, scheduled from August 12th through August 18th. The two first-round winners will meet in the TCL Championship Series. The first-half ends on Tuesday, July 5th.

This will be the first time in three years that the Aces will be returning to the same league, with both the United and Continental Leagues both folding in the interim. This year the Aces are joined by another Louisiana team, the Acadiana Cane Cutters, who will be playing their home games at Fabacher Field in Youngsville (Lafayette), Louisiana.

“Due to the late announcement of the Aces in the TCL last year, the Aces’ talent level on the field was a little less than the majority of the league,” said Eric Moran, President & CEO. “This year, the Aces fans will surely see a little more wins than last year. We are just thankful to our sponsors that continue to support the Aces’ organization. Some very good things happened last year that stabilized this organization and showed that baseball could be financially successful, too. We still have a lot to overcome, but we are steadily moving forward. Now it is the front office’s responsibility to match the on-the-field success of the Aces in the past.”

“We are excited to start the new Aces season, and are looking forward to see all our faithful fans, contributors, sponsors, and patrons again this summer,” said new Aces’ General Manager, Jodie White. “In the coming weeks we will start announcing some of the changes that we will try to incorporate at Bringhurst to make the Aces’ games more fun.”

The Aces are selling season tickets for just $100/seat for reserve seats and general admission seats for the 2011 season, as well as its continuing advertising and marketing opportunities. The Aces and its local ownership group are looking forward to continuing to provide great, family-friendly entertainment to the Central Louisiana community.
