“A-Town Jazz” Returns February 11th“A-Town Jazz” returns to the local music scene on February 11th, just in time for an early Valentine date with your sweetheart.  The evening is being presented at the Coughlin-Saunders Performing Arts Center by the Arts Council of Central Louisiana and underwritten by Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital.         Playing a return engagement at “A-Town” after appearing at the club’s premiere, will be the Lukejazz Trio under the direction of Luke Brouillette, with guest vocalists Matt Henry, Rodessa Metoyer and Patricia Buckhalton.

Henry earned his performance degree from Ohio State University, touring the country with the Scarlet and Gray Show and the Men’s Glee Club as a featured soloist.  After graduation he performed with several professional choruses and performed numerous roles and concerts in the central Ohio and upstate New York regions.  Since arriving in Alexandria, where he is the Director of Production and Facilities for the Arts Council of Central Louisiana, he has had various roles with City Park Players and Family Playhouse.

Ms. Metoyer taught instrumental music for nearly three decades.  She currently sings with the Red River Chorale and is involved in many community service activities. Musical talent is in her genes: her uncle, “Kid” Thomas Valentine, played trumpet at New Orleans’ Preservation Hall.

Ms. Buckhalton, a marketing consultant for WNTZ Fox-48 TV, has served as a choir director, an emcee, a radio station manager/personality, and as a guest soloist at many events.

The cover charge for “A-Town Jazz” is $20.00 per person which includes the cost of the entertainment and light hors d’oeuvres. There will be a cash bar (beer and wine only).  The doors open at 6:30pm with entertainment beginning at 7:00pm and ending at 9:00pm.  Parking is available across the street from the Coughlin-Saunders Performing Arts Center.
