35th Annual Zwolle Tamale Fiesta Heats up in ZwolleThe fall is the best time of the year to cook up your favorite tamale recipe, and enjoy the treat of tasting that amazing blend of spices.  For those of you that want to experience the treat without all the fuss, travel to the Zwolle Tamale Fiesta being held October 7th – 9th at the Zwolle festival grounds.  The Tamale Fiesta is a fun way for the people of Zwolle to celebrate their Spanish and Native American Heritage.

The Fiesta kicks off Thursday October 7th at the Zwolle festival grounds with dinner and entertainment at 6:00pm, admission is $2.00 per person.  Festival gates open Friday at 5:00pm, admission is $3.00.  Survivor mud wars begin at 5:00pm along with Johnson Carnival Rides, concessions, arts and crafts, and tamale eating contest. Plan on dancing from 8:00pm to 12:00am to music by the Don Rich Band on stage 1. Saturday gates open after the parade at 11:00am.  Enjoy lots of activities including the Spanish costume contest, tamale judging and tamale eating contest, with the popular truck mudbog at 1:00pm.  Foret Tradition of New Orleans will be providing music from 8:00pm – 12:00am.
