The Arts Council of Central Louisiana proudly presents Parsons Dance, November 12th at Coughlin-Saunders Performing Arts Center. Parsons Dance is a New York City-based modern dance company, internationally renowned for creating and performing contemporary American dance of extraordinary artistry that is accessible and enriching to diverse audiences. This exciting performance will begin at 7:00pm.
The company consists of nine full-time dancers and maintains a repertory of more than 80 works, twenty of which feature commissioned original scores by composers and musicians including Dave Matthews, Michael Gordon, Milton Nascimento, John Mackey, and Phil Woods. Parsons Dance has also been featured on PBS, Bravo, A&E, and the Discovery Channel. This performance will feature choreographer David Parsons’ groundbreaking piece, “Caught”, which uses innovative lighting techniques to create the illusion of the dancer floating and suspended in mid-air. Hailed as “delightful, vibrant, and enticing,” Parsons Dance is an experience the entire family will enjoy.
