The Red River Chorale is celebrating an impressive anniversary! The 2014-15 concert season marks the tenth season for the Chorale; its first concert was performed in October, 2005. It is clear that Central Louisiana values the addition of fine choral music to the richness of the artistic offerings available in the area, because support for this selective performance group has grown steadily over the past decade.
This tenth season, “Celebrating a Decade of Singing,” is a retrospective of the music presented in their 35-plus performances, and includes four concerts: October 21st, December 16th, March 17th and May 5th. All concerts begin at 7:30pm. A season membership is only $50.00 per person, and includes all four concerts.
This year of celebration begins on Tuesday evening, October 21st with a concert titled “Celebrating America,” at Emmanuel Baptist Church. The concert will feature fine choral music by American composers. It will also feature a musical salute to our country’s military, featuring a combined chorus and brass ensemble. To further honor those who have served to defend the United States, all members of the military, past or present, will be admitted to this concert free of charge, as guests of the Chorale. No ID will be required.
Tickets to all individual concerts are only $15.00 for adults and $5.00 for students. Individual concert tickets, as well as season tickets, may be purchased through the Chorale’s website—www.redriverchorale.com—by phone at (318) 484-4463, from Red River Music, or from any Chorale member. Donations of any size are always welcome and may be made through the website. All donations will be acknowledged in the printed programs for each concert.
