Thanks to those of you that voted, we now know who is Cenla’s Best.  Many times, it is easy for us to cast our vote and see the good in others, but how do we feel about ourselves?  When you look in the mirror, what sort of feedback do you give yourself? Do you criticize your hair, your eyes, your complexion, your body shape, your weight? What positive feedback are you giving yourself?  There is an old Indian story about a grandfather talking to his grandson:  One evening, an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people. 
He said, “My son, the battle is between two ‘wolves’ inside us all. One is Evil.  It is anger, envy, jealousy, greed and arrogance. The other is Good.  It is peace, love, hope, humility, compassion and faith.”  The grandson thought about this for a while and then asked his grandfather, “Which wolf wins?”

 To this, the old Cherokee simply replied, “The one you feed.”

 

How can you be your best when you see nothing but the negative in yourself?  If you aren’t your best, how do you expect others to feel about you?  Everyone deserves to see the best you.  You owe it to yourself, your family and those around you to strive to be the best person you can be.  So, your past may not be stellar.  So, you’ve made a few mistakes in your life.  That’s all in the past, and it doesn’t matter anymore.  It’s true that your past experiences have shaped you into the person you are today, but that doesn’t mean the past controls your future.  You control your future!  And here’s a little secret—you aren’t finished making mistakes!  So, don’t be too hard on yourself.  The world could use more good wolves these days, and it all starts with you.  So, go ahead, start feeding the good wolf!
