The Red River Jazz Band proudly presents the 2010 “USO Big Band Celebration: Remember the Big Band Era” on Sunday, June 27th at 3:00pm at the Coughlin-Saunders Performing Arts Center. This show recaptures the memories and music from the 1930’s, 1940’s, and 1950’s when Big Bands were popular music entertainment and swing was the style.
This year’s show once again features a dance floor next to the stage for those interested in doing a little jitterbug to a good old fast tune or sway slowly to a nice ballad. We will perform music by the great band leaders of the day; Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman – the list goes on and on.
Tickets are $10.00 for adults, $5.00 for seniors and students (grades k-12). Any serviceman or woman attending the concert in uniform will receive free admission. Tickets will be available at the box office one hour before the performance and in advance by calling (318) 443-4718.
