Cenla Holiday Happenings Fair

303

On Tuesday, November 13th, the 2012 Cenla Holiday Happenings Fair will take place at the Country Inn & Suites Hotel Convention Center, located at 2727 Monroe Highway in Pineville from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. This fair has become an annual event sponsored by State Representative Chris Hazel, who represents House District 27 which encompasses most areas in Rapides Parish north of the Red River to Grant Parish and then south to Cheneyville.

The idea for this fair began in 2009 after Chris Hazel served his first term in the Louisiana Legislature.  He wanted to provide a way to give back to the citizens of our community that were so supportive of him and his family.  What better way to do that than to enlist local civic, community and service oriented organizations to showcase the services they provide to the folks of Cenla not only during the holidays but throughout the year, in a one-stop, family friendly, festive location?

Hazel says, “Central Louisiana is a special place to live and this is a great opportunity for our citizens to obtain information about the resources available and events taking place right here in their own backyard.  There is no better way to celebrate our community than to come together and share what we all have to offer with our neighbors.”

Cenla Holiday Happenings FairThis year’s fair promises to be the best yet.  Over forty local and community organizations, vendors, service and charitable groups will participate.  There will be drawings for door prizes, a balloon artist, refreshments, and entertainment.  In addition, Fire and Police equipment will be on display, along with live animals for petting provided by Gone Wild Safari.  Special guests this year include Pineville’s own Emmy award nominated television and film actresses, Faith Ford, along with the Voices of LC who are scheduled to perform at 7:00pm.  Dance performances by Vicki’s Dance Center and the Dancin’ Bandits, along with musical performances by local artists Ms. Octavia Jackson-Williams and D.C. Sills are also planned.  Admission to this event is free.

There will be lots of photo opportunities and it is rumored that Santa himself will make an appearance, so come out and bring your entire family.  There will be something for everyone.  We hope to see you there!
