The LaPine Chapter of the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP) celebrated Administrative Professionals Day on April 21st with the announcement of our administrative professional of the year and recognition of a 50-year anniversary.

Cindy Rine, CPS/CAP of Alexandria was named the 2010 Administrative Professional of the Year. Rine currently serves as an executive secretary for Cleco Corporation. She has a 20-year administrative career and is the holder of Certified Professional Secretary and Certified Administrative Professional ratings. She joined LaPine in 1998 and has worked on numerous committees, including serving as committee chair for the study group for the CPS/CAP certifications since 2006. She also is the editor of the chapter newsletter.

In addition, Gloria Shelby, also of Alexandria, was honored for her 50th anniversary as a LaPine chapter member. Shelby joined the chapter in 1959 and has a long teaching career which began at Louisiana Tech University in Ruston. She retired from LSU Alexandria with more than 35 years of service to the university.
