PrintThe City of Alexandria and the Alexandria-Pineville Convention and Visitors Bureau are excited to announce a seasonal sister to the city’s popular spring festival, AlexRiverFete with the introduction of AlexWinterFête!  The brand new festival will debut December 3rd and run through December 5th this year.

On Thursday, December 3rd, AlexWinterFête will kick off with the beginning of the City’s annual 12 Nights of Christmas program—including a Griswoldian tree and downtown lighting event, children’s program, Santa visit, street performers, food vendors and much more!  The festival will continue on Friday, December 4th at 5:00 with the continuation of Thursday night’s activities in a holiday carnival atmosphere, featuring a Holiday Walk, vendors for holiday shopping, food, fireworks and activities from holiday celebrations from around the world.  On Saturday, December 5th, the festival will continue with the addition of snow globes, snow and more!  On Saturday evening, children can wind down the day’s celebration at the Alexandria Zoo watching seasonal movies with popcorn, and other warm and sweet treats to eat and drink.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to stay downtown on Saturday night to enjoy the “date night” atmosphere.  The festival will feature plenty of options for food and drink, along with  a concert on the steps of City Hall.

There is still time to join in the fun as a vendor!  Those interested in becoming vendors for AlexWinterFête 2015 can visit https://cityofalexandriala.com/ALEXWINTERFÊTE for complete details and instructions for filling out the appropriate vendor forms.  The deadline for vendor applications is Friday, November 20th.
