“Pops on the River” is moving into the air conditioning! No more bug spray and cooling fans, just the same great music, free general seating, and relaxed atmosphere now in the air conditioned comfort of the Alexandria Riverfront Center. This year, the musicians of the Rapides Symphony will be joined by vocalist Steve Vecchi in a “A Salute to Sintara and Friends”. Steve is a great vocalist and entertainer from Atlanta that will perform many of your favorite standards from Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis, Jr. and more.
Beyond the great music, several of Cenla’s favorite restaurants will have food and drinks (soft drinks, daiquiris, etc.) available for purchase to make it especially convenient to enjoy the concert. For those that would like special table seating, we again have tables for 10 available for $300. We also have various levels of sponsorships available for area businesses that would like to support this free public concert. Mark your calendar for Saturday, September 14th at 7:30pm. For those that have enjoyed “Pops” outdoors for many years, it is the exact same experience and procedure, just more comfortable. General seating is still free, and we encourage families and anyone who has never attended a Symphony performance to come. It will be a great time for everyone!
