Local Artist Morris Taft Thomas Art on Display at Rapides Parish Main Library

Morris-Taft-webLocal Artist Morris Taft Thomas is currently displaying Louisiana Cowboys, his exhibit of several mixed media art pieces, in the Main Library, continuing through the end of July.  Reference Assistant Manager, Faith Johnson said, “The exhibit depicts the life of the African-American Cowboy in a new light.  People of all ages will be able to appreciate this exhibit.”

 

The art of Morris Taft Thomas can be found in private collections, public parks, universities, art galleries and museums throughout the nation.  Mr. Thomas is a native of New Orleans, but he has lived and worked in Alexandria for many years.  Many of his works are part of the culture of the City of Alexandria.
