There is nothing like live local theatre, and City Park Players begins its 63rd Season on February 25th with its production of The Lion in Winter by James Goldman. Directed by Diane Falcone, the larger-than-life characters will be brought to life in the Hearn Stage, a black box theatre, in the Kress Theatre space of the Rapides Foundation Building, located in Downtown Alexandria, at 1102 3rd Street.
The Cast includes: Henry II by Tim Landry, Eleanor of Aquitaine by Theresa Louviere, Richard by Jerry Havens, Geoffrey by Ty Cedars, John by Eric Goodman, Alais Capet by Karen Slatten, Philip King of France by Britton Patton. This historically based play, set in 1183 France, is a fictional story depicting the gamesmanship by all of the characters to determine who will ultimately rule as King once Henry II decides to pass on the monarchy of England.
