Honorees Chosen for YWCA’s Decades of Women

18

The YWCA of Alexandria-Pineville has been serving Central Louisiana since 1946.  For over 60 years, we have been a catalyst for women and children’s rights.   The YWCA is the largest and oldest women’s membership movement in the United States.  The mission of the YWCA is to empower women and girls and to eliminate racism.

As part of our mission of empowering women, The YWCA is hosting a “Decades of Women” Luncheon.  This event will honor six women, one from each decade ranging from 20’s to 70’s+, who have displayed community excellence and achievement.  Each candidate was nominated by members of the community and selected by the YWCA Board of Directors.

 The 2010 Honorees are:

20’s Distinguished Woman – Rebecca Phillips
30’s Distinguished Woman – Ingrid Johnson
40’s Distinguished Woman – Stacey Debevec
50’s Distinguished Woman – Elizabeth Erny Foote
60’s Distinguished Woman – Linda Hickman
70’s+ Distinguished Woman – Olla Chicola

These women will be honored at an Awards Luncheon on Thursday, November 18th at Calvary Baptist Church.  Judge Rae Swent will be the guest speaker for the event.  Sponsors for the event include Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital, Red River Bank and Cleco.  Tickets for the luncheon are $25.00.  Call the YWCA at (318) 442-3397 to purchase your tickets today!
