On Sunday, October 3rd at 3:00pm, Israeli pianist, Tal Zilber will perform in the sanctuary of the Jewish Temple located at 2021 Turner Street in Alexandria.  Mr. Zilber is an alumnus of the Jacobs School of Music, Indiana University and holds a Bachelor’s degree and Masters degree in Piano Performance from the Rubin Israeli Music Academy.  He has performed in solo recitals and chamber recitals in Israel and abroad.  In 2009, he was a competitor in the Louisiana International Piano Competition here in Alexandria where he garnered a large following.

Mr. Zilber specializes in classical music and has extensive experience and knowledge of Jazz and improvisation in different styles.  This concert will feature a variety of both classical and Jazz selections.  Mr. Zilber is currently attending the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, working on his Doctorate in the Contemporary Improvisation program.

Mr. Zilber will be playing a new AvantGrand piano provided by Yamaha.  This piano was unveiled last Fall at the Annual NAMM Music show and features unsurpassed music technology offering the complete acoustic playing and listening experience of a concert grand piano in a 4 foot cabinet.  The AvantGrand has been described as “a miracle of technology and artistry…a new identity for the piano born of the fusion of 21st century technology and more than 100 years of piano crafting experience.”

The concert is sponsored by the Jewish Temple, the Bindursky-Fuhrer Concert Fund and the Rapides Parish Library.  It is free and open to the public.  A reception will follow.  Don’t expect a stuffy piano concert.  Tal Zilber is young and innovative and you will be very entertained.  So, come enjoy a Sunday afternoon of great music, warm company and refreshments.  For information, please call the Jewish Temple at (318) 445-3655.
